Redway Wi-Fi engineer Lee Wright Achieves Highly Acclaimed CWNE Accreditation in Wireless Networking

We’re thrilled to share that Lee Wright, one of our Senior Network Engineers, has achieved his Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) qualification – the final step in the Certified Wireless Network Professional Programme.

Only 112 engineers hold the qualification across the whole of EMEA, making Lee one of the most advanced WLAN professionals on the continent.

The certification requires candidates to pass 4 exams, submit a technical white paper and 3 essays on completed WLAN deployments, as well as providing 4 professional recommendations – a serious undertaking to say the least!

With 7 years working in the wireless industry, Lee has worked on hundreds of our client projects across a range of sectors, designing, installing and configuring networks that have helped transform organisations. These include many challenging projects for complex warehousing and manufacturing facilities, working around design limitations in grade one listed buildings and deploying Wi-Fi for high density education environments such as auditoriums and dynamic learning spaces. Oh, and that time Lee spent several days freezing and thawing himself out whilst fitting APs in industrial freezers.

The CWNE certification demonstrates to the industry that Lee has mastered all the relevant skills to administer, install, configure, troubleshoot, and design wireless network systems. In addition, CWNE engineers have a deep understanding of protocol analysis, intrusion detection and prevention, performance, Quality of Service (QoS) analysis, spectrum analysis and management and advanced design.

And it’s not ‘just’ CWNE. In addition, Lee holds twelve licences and certifications including Certified Wireless Professional certifications and vendor accreditations with Cisco Meraki, Extreme Networks and Cambium Networks.

We asked Lee for a few words on the news: “achieving this CWNE certification has been a long-term goal of mine made possible by the support and assistance of my colleagues within Redway Networks. I look forward to continuing my work on pioneering, enterprise Wi-Fi projects that help our customers improve connectivity and efficiency through high-performing networks.”
