As a large pet specialist retailer with a distribution to over 160 stores across the UK, Pets Corner relies on many different applications and devices to to control operations, so a robust wireless network is essential.

With its new build warehouse being a 'greenfield' project with no existing IT infrastructure, Pets Corner need a wireless network specialist it could trust to design and deliver the right network for supporting its growing supply chain.

With the need for flexibility and WiFi expertise for its complex warehouse project, Pets Corner reached out to Redway Networks for its new wireless solution.

High-Performance WiFi meets Supply Chain Needs from Warehouse to Stores

The new warehouse WiFi project was complex so a three-step delivery approach including predictive survey, installation and post construction survey was proposed.

Redway Networks worked closely with Pets Corner to understand its WiFi usage and device types then using its floorplans and knowledge of wall materials Redway's engineer simulated the WiFi coverage in Ekahau to confidently plan wireless capacity and throughput requirements .

Redway Networks recommended a Cambium cloud-managed solution with indoor and outdoor access points to automated Pets Corner's warehouse operations, office and lorry bays for moving stock from vehicles straight to warehouse shelves.

Robust Network Supports Automated Warehouse Demands

Redway Networks worked around construction issues to design and install a Cambium wireless network that would cope with Pets Corner's highly efficient stock control systems once the warehouse was up and running.

To ensure a strong warehouse WiFi signal with no dark spots, Cambium access points with 30-degree directional antenna were installed at each end of the aisles. Outside the warehouse, external access points were fitted to manage the fleet of auto-positioning forklift trucks.

Pet's Corners warehouse now has a modern, robust, secure wireless network capable of supporting its business operations both now and into the future.

The WiFi is providing complete warehouse coverage for fast, accurate automated stock replenishment and there's no difference in coverage from anywhere in the warehouse.

Cambium is providing reliable connectivity and communications for Pets Corner's warehousing operations and national distribution of pet products to its 150 stores.
