Robust WiFi improves online learning at Wakefield Grammar Schools Foundation

The Wakefield Grammar Schools Foundation comprises three independent day schools on one large campus. The schools rely on robust, secure WiFi with high-density capacity to support 2,000 students, 430 staff and hundreds of connecting devices through its 1-1 learning programme.

With its existing wireless network coming to the end of life, the Foundation needed a more superior network to keep pace with its ICT provision and facilitate the delivery of online educational content through its 1-1 learning model.

The Trust reached out to Redway Networks to provide a Cisco Meraki solution to handle the demands of its multiple devices and applications whilst simplifying network management through the cloud.

Latest WiFi technology provides visibility & flexibility for the school

All three schools required superior wireless performance with remote management capabilities to support the various networks including school devices, BYOD and guests.

The Foundation was recommended to Redway Networks and was impressed with Redway's technical knowledge, drive and passion.

High-Density WiFi delivers tailored digital learning.

Redway Networks delivered an optimised network design validated using Ekahau's heatmapping software to improve wireless coverage and capacity. Redway's engineer then installed Meraki MR44 and MR36 access points and configured the Meraki dashboard to suit the three schools' needs.

With Meraki's 10-YR for the price of 5-YR licensing promotion, the schools have a future-proofed network with a low total cost of ownership with full network management support from Redway Networks.

Since installing Meraki the schools have reliable, fast WiFi that is supporting 1-1 learning programmes with higher levels of security. Meraki's high-capacity, agile network can easily support the schools as they onboard more devices and educational technology.
